    NINHAM SHAND ESTABLISHED IN CAPE TOWN

    A small office opens in South Africa, marking the beginning of a legacy that would shape nearly a century.

  • 1951

    Van Wyk and Louw established

    A new firm enters the South African engineering landscape.

  • 1978

    Namibia expansion

    Van Wyk and Louw expands operations into Namibia.

  • 1994

    Becoming Africon

    Van Wyk and Louw rebrands to Africon and extends its reach across Greater Africa, including Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

  • 2002

    Middle East expansion

    Africon begins operating in the Middle East, laying the foundations for future regional impact.

  • 2009

    Aurecon is formed

    Africon, Connell Wagner (Australasia), and Ninham Shand (South Africa) merge to create Aurecon, a global firm with over 210 years of combined experience.

  • 2012

    NETGroup merger

    Aurecon integrates NETGroup, a leader in transmission and distribution solutions.

  • 2019

    Refocusing on Africa

    Aurecon Africa demerges from the Australian business.

  • 2020

    Zutari is born

    We become Zutari, an African-founded, purpose-driven firm. We also acquire Aurecon Middle East, reconnecting with our legacy in the region.

    90 years of impact

    We celebrate nine decades of engineering progress and partnerships across continents, and open an office in Riyadh.

    DUBAI HEADQUARTERS LAUNCHED

    Zutari SA opens Corporate Headquarters in Dubai.
